Hobbies:   I love to spend time with my family, eat fabulous food, take pictures of my granddaughters, as well as continue to learn about the exciting field of Speech and Language Pathology.

My Goals for providing Speech and Language Services 1. Provide a learning environment that allows each student to improve their articulation skills, expand their language skills, become more fluent, and/or develop good vocal hygiene.  Specific goals are identified on a student's current IEP.  We also offer a Speech Improvement Program which functions like Response to Intervention.  This program is designed to facilitate improved articulation skills for students determined to qualify for this service.
  2. Work with teachers and administrators to identify students with needs in the areas of articulation, language delay/disorder, dysfluency, and voice disorders.
  3. Work with parents to assist in providing strategies that encourage generalization of learned skills into the home environment.

 4. Provide parents and teachers with resources that assist in understanding and working with their child or student with speech/language disorders.

Why I Love Being a Speech and Language Pathologist:

The beginning of my career as a Speech Pathologist began the day I was born.  My older brother was born profoundly deaf and since he was my best friend for many years, his experiences shaped my world.  I went with him to see his  Speech Pathologist.  I went with him to his deaf and hard-of-hearing classroom. And, as a family, we drove him to the Berkeley School for The Deaf in Oakland, California.  We visited CSU, Sacramento's Speech and Hearing Clinic for his hearing tests which, even at a young age, I found fascinating.  Speech pathology has come a long way from those days and I have enjoyed, and still enjoy, learning and working in this exciting field of work.
