Yellow Ribbon Club
If a military parent is deploying, going TDY or leaving for Remote, students may join the Yellow Ribbon Club. This is a group of students who meet with the counselor during the time their parent is away. Typically, the group meets at scheduled lunch periods. Some of the activities include letter writing to the parent, sharing experiences and gaining strength from knowing there are friends and others who have similar experiences. If you'd like to inquire about Yellow Ribbon Club for your child, please notify the classroom teacher of the deployment/TDY/Remote dates or contact Mrs. Garabedian, School Counselor.
In addition, we have Yellow Ribbon Reunion parties scheduled throughout the school year, where the student and their parent are invited to attend the next party following the parent's return. This is a culmination activity to celebrate the end of the time apart and recognize the resilience of the student.
